Our Expertise

Our Director, Gillian Baillie has over 25 years of experience as a Chartered Town Planner working in public, private and voluntary sector roles. She established Gillian Baillie Planning Ltd. in 2023 to provide quality planning and advisory services to commercial, private and public sector clients.  Gillian is passionate about supporting projects which enhance quality of life, place and environment.

Based in Ayrshire, Gillian has provided planning services across Scotland and the UK for residential, commercial, transport, energy, industrial, agricultural and rural development. Previously as head of the UK & Ireland planning team for a global multi-disciplinary consultancy she worked on major infrastructure proposals including the A9 and A96 Dualling Programmes, and renewable energy developments.

Gillian's local authority experience in development management and planning policy ensures she is well versed in helping clients navigate the often complex nature of planning and other statutory consents.  She is an experienced expert witness at public inquiries and at the Lands Tribunal for Scotland.

Gillian collaborates with her clients, professional specialists and stakeholders to build strong relationships.  She is adept at developing proportionate but robust consenting routes, and takes pride in providing quality and value in her professional services.

Gillian is a registered STEM Ambassador, who actively promotes planning and built environment skills and careers through leading activities and workshops in schools.
